Pulled this from Omar's facebook:
Officially, Netlabel Day 2025 begins this year at 15 July 2024 Line Island Time (GMT+14)
Send me at info@netlabelday.org the linkz at least one track, one album, one playlist under a free sharing license (usually Creative Commons), and ensure it is released either without cost or pay-what-you-can for at least the week of 14 July through 20 July. It can even be a single track, freely licensed, from a normally full-price album.
If you have no music you want to release on 14 July itself, I will accept ANY album or single or mixtape or radio show or vodcast or playlist ALREADY RELEASED IN 2025,
If you're keen to do a mix or a show, live or recorded: Check the fancy spreadsheet to behold the majestic timeline of 51 hours, spanning all time zones across the world. You can choose your slot for chaos. Drop me a show between 15-120 minutes (you choose) in which you can do DJ mixes, perform live studio music, spin vinyl, chop bits, promote the cause of sonic anarchy, etc. Please be sure you lean heavily on Creative Commons music in the mix.
If you're keen to livestream a concert on the Netlabel Day Radio station, sign up as above for your chosen slot.
And again if you don't have new music, anthologies rule. I myself put together several last year from Magnatune, Jazz Goa, Jazzaria, and Musopen. Even better if they have liner notes of some sort so that we can educate folks about this crazy wide world of Creative Commons, Art Libre, GPL, PD, and otherwise freely licensed music that tells corporate music to go pleasure itself in a corner somewhere.
info@netlabelday.org is the default address for shenanigans, but contact.netlabelday@gmail.com or omar@seattlestar.net works, too
