Maybe I should check for a registrar association in which I could be involved instead. I don't feel like paying fees to any office with which I would like to be accredited, especially the ridiculous 3500$ registration + 4000$ annual fees with ICANN.

Would anyone know an association of this kind ? As I've my own AS and IP address pools (v4 and v6), I could provide extra DNS on a separated infra for resilience ?
