The western house martin (also called the common house martin, northern house martin, or just, house martin) is a small, migratory member of the swallow family with a glossy blue-black back, pure white underparts, and a distinctive white rump. They are widely distributed across Europe, Asia, and North Africa, breeding in temperate regions and wintering in sub-Saharan Africa and tropical Asia. They are highly social, nesting colonially on buildings, typically under eaves, and feeding on insects caught in acrobatic flight. 2.5 Flash (Edited)
