In the Frankfurt airport waiting for a connecting flight and there is an American talking incessantly and very loudly while wearing a Creed t-shirt and I just want to apologize to Germany and make clear that #NotAllAmericans.

I'm tempted to write an article as to why I'm utterly hostile to Americans right now.

It's obviously #NotAllAmericans, but to me, watching a whole nation reject allies whose citizens have lain down their lives for wars that were of no consequence to us, is not hurtful, it's a betrayal.

It's easy to say it's not a "whole nation", but, seriously, so many didn't vote that the apathy speaks louder than anything

@Tharpa The responses I received to a post like this on Facebook were largely of the "#NotAllAmericans" sort, complete with the sort of "reasoned" arguments you'd expect on something tagged "#NotAllCops" or "#AllLivesMatter"

I live in the first place your country will attack. It is probable I will die in that attack blown up in my home along with a hundred thousand other people in Halifax and probably something in the range of a million or so Canadians who will be murdered in that first wave.

But you're right, #NotAllAmericans is super important because words hurt.

We are past the point of words. The only currency of worth now is actions.

One thing I will not be doing: any sort of #notallAmericans bullshit. We’re a dying empire built on the blood of subjugated peoples. Those of us who benefited from that subjugation for a few centuries don’t get to act surprised now. Roll up your sleeves. We fix it or we don’t. Who’s responsible? We are.

Please, please, please if you are going to post broadly on whether something is legal or illegal (and not in context of a clear thread), could you please say where you are talking about.

At the very least, the country you're in.

Especially if you're posting generic advice, or danger-proximate advice, like "the police can't xx, it's illegal", or "did you know it's perfectly legal to xx".

Very few things are simply "illegal".
