I became aware of this Ukrainian band when they won Eurovision in 2022, and I absolutely fell in love with them. The flute and the bucket hat and the rapping and just all of it. This song fits the theme in two ways. First, it was written in memory of the Pretenders guitarist James Honeyman-Scott, who had died a couple of months earlier. And it is forever linked in my mind with someone I lost sight of a long time ago. I had just returned to the US after several months in Europe, and I was visiting a friend who was, like me, a Pretenders fan.
