Humanitarian workers, including from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (#OCHA) in Ukraine and the World Health Organization (#WHO) in Ukraine, were on a mission to provide humanitarian aid to a heavily war-impacted community that had not received assistance for months. When the aid workers were on site, intensive artillery fire started, and later, during offloading, two clearly marked trucks of the World Food Programme #WFP were targeted by first-person-view drones. Fortunately, the humanitarian workers were not injured, but two trucks were damaged and set on fire.

Gaza City’s last lifelines collapsing as Israeli attacks intensify, OCHA warns
The last lifelines for civilians in Gaza City are collapsing as Israel escalates its military assault, the UN humanitarian office (OCHA) warns.
In five days, 11 UNRWA shelters housing 11,000 people were hit, OCHA said. More than one million people have been displaced since Israel broke the March ceasefire, including 200,000 in the last month and 56,000 since Sunday alone, OCHA added.

After a complete halt of entry of all humanitarian supplies into Gaza, Israel has permitted "basic" imports starting May 18th 2025. The amount and the mode of distribution of the permitted imports are still utterly insufficient, with killings reported at militarized aid distribution points.
It is expected that between mid-August and the end of September 2025, all 1.98 million people for which data were available will face crisis or worse levels of acute food insecurity (IPC 3 and above), including 1.14 million people in the emergency phase (IPC Phase 4), and 641,00 people facing catastrophic levels of acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 5).
