Fun thing, I bumped into my main instructor from OSU at the summit! That's fun.

Ugh, conflicted. They are doing the field across the highway so the struggle is between trying to get a good photograph for my presentation vs. not getting that stuff in/on me.

Good morning and TZAG, fediverse.
The crop dusters are out this morning. If they start doing the nearby fields I will have to shut up the house.
This is timely, as I am working on my sector map this weekend for school. Crop dusting threats come from both the east and the west. And also to some degree from the south.

Starting to think I should keep a blog about what I'm learning about the land and my family while working on my PDC.

Some thoughts while out walking ...
One thing the PDC course is trying to instill is the practice of getting out there on the land and learning it, observing it. For me, it's working.
I have to confess that I don't love the land yet. But I can feel it happening. It's a charming land, despite what we humans have done to it.

Good morning fediverse. I did so much walking yesterday! I looked at so many trees and fences. However I forgot to find all the spigots. So I have to go back outside. Oh woe is me. 😉
Today I need to finish building out my base map. There are tons of these little water flow arrows to put.
I also need to interview my dad and uncle.

The land is effectively flat. LiDAR data doesn't give me much, but there are ditches and holes and undulations I can look at from a water flow perspective, and since it rained last night, it'll be easier to see.
I'll also do some of the client interviews. Two down, four to go. I just have to catch them live, since they don't tech well.

Good morning fediverse.
Monday used to be my day of rest but I'm in school now, and a bit behind on the current section.
Today for permaculture school, while it's still cloudy and icky out, I'm going to catch up on my reading.
It's supposed to get sunnier after noon, so I'll take my draft base map on a clipboard around the site, noting water spigots and power lines, etc. And getting a handle on how water flows.
