The next refugee from the overfull cellar is this incredible 2002 #Bordeaux blend from Rosemount Wines, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. It has aged magnificently, silky smooth with plenty of fruit left but all those delicious tertiary characteristics layered underneath. The fruit comes from both the McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek wine regions of South Australia. Absolutely thrilled with this bottle!

Not tooting my own horn, because I don't make the wine, but this stuff is awesome. I have been a Grade-A certified Petit Verdot hater ever since I tried my first one 10.years ago, but this is a game changer. So much fruit! So little tannin! Such a robust flavor! What is everybody else doing when they make this stuff?

Hello mastodonians! It was a #BlendingTrial kinda day.
A stark difference in texture and aroma between 60/40 blend of #CabernetSauvignon / #PetitVerdot, 55/45 cab/PV -- TBH we are a little shocked at how different those 2 blends presented. Current consensus is that we're going with the 60/40 and then doing a small PV dominant release with the remainder.

2 wine glasses, recently emptied sit aside 3 flasks that contain differing blends of the 2 components. In the background are pitchers containing the single variety wines and from multiple barrels.
