Size constancy breaks down when we view very large and/or distant objects. The real illusion here is that the moon and sun look tiny (and approximately the same size) when they are massive! But sometimes they look less tiny than others. 😅 #PhilPerception

Fun fact: we tend to think of our visual field as extending in front of us, and indeed most of it does, but the binocular visual field also extends slightly *behind* us to either side with a combined width of over 180°! 🤯 #PhilPerception
