I met Phyllis Coates (1927-2023) — TV’s first Lois Lane — in 2008, and complained about my knee as I knelt down to take a picture.

"Have you tried Omega-3?” she asked. "It works wonders!”

We bonded over our creaky joints and I said my farewells. “And don’t forget,” she said. “Omega-3!” ❤️

She was born Gypsie Ann Evarts Stell on Jan.15, 1927 in Wichita Falls TX, and passed away from natural causes on Wed, Oct.11th.

Phyllis Coates, TV's first Lois Lane, has died at 96. Coates only stayed with the Superman series for one season, but had a long career in film and television, beginning with a role in the 1946 TV series Faraway Hill. Coates played Ellen Lane, mother of Lois, in one episode of "Lois & Clark". Her final role was in 1996's "Hollywood: The Movie".
