@sijmen @NanoRaptor you mean #PoweredUSB?

@Cathoderaytube And #PoweredUSB at least fixed the "fucky-wucky-ness" of abused, gender-flipped #DB9 ports...
@Cathoderaytube So yeah, outside of #POS setups and other spechalized nieches noone should use #PoweredUSB [even tho the specs are public] because #USBpowerDelivery / #USBPD & #USBc are a thing and they provide way more power (up to 48V @ 5A = 240W) with way more voltages [5V, 9V, 12V, 15v, 20V, 48V] and way more Amps [0,5A - 5A] supported.
Sadly #PoweredUSB is a proprietary standard but I wounder if there's some option like with #USBc to "trigger" it on / off and check supported amperages for like external drives and other shenanigans...

@ozone89 @foone oftentimes companies just come up with #proprietary connectors to shaft their clients, like #PoweredUSB doing 12V & 24V...
@blinken @NanoRaptor reminds me of the cursed #PoweredUSB standards that predates #USB-#PowerDelivery.
The most successful product - abeit with a proprietary connector - was Microsoft's #Kinect for the #Xbox360...
