Inspired by my last #WS2812B #PCB, I decided to do a smaller version and try to add a USB C connector. I'm very pleased how it turned out. The LEDs are not as close to each other as last time, but I still used my hot plate to solder them. And hot air for the back side.

The USB-C connector is a bit like the new TRS (audio jack 3.5mm if you prefer). On both my main personal (5y old) and pro (8months) thinkpad the USB-C connector seem to be failing. Regardless of the cable I use, unless I tweak it in a specific position it keeps connecting/disconnecting. On my personal laptop I am using a magsafe-like adapter, being magnetic and articulated, the cable doesn't pull the usb-c connnector so I can manage to keep it in place. On the PRO one, I am lucky to have 2 USB-C connectors.

Reminds me of the walkman's days when you had a bend male TRS, damaged female TRS connector or failing cable that you had to maintain in a specific position to get music on both ears.

Maybe the Apple fanboys were right and lightning was a better option?
