Saw this video on youtube, where someone was saying that there had been layoffs at WotC, specifically the team that maintains "Project Sigil", with only a skeleton crew remaining.
Apparently, people aren't using the VTT, which is an issue, since WotC heavily invested in it, and it was supposed to be the new way to play D&D.
Be that as it may, take all this with a (big) grain of salt.

The mistake #Hasbro #WotC has made with #ProjectSigil is that they are attempting to build Rome in a day, as it were.
This is a common failing of companies that have little to no experience in software development and find themselves lagging the market. They should have started with much more modest design goals. Now it seems they are trying to backpedal and soften expectations.
What playgroups really need is a basic automation system to handle the tedium of #DnD, not a 3D videogame engine. …
I've seen speculation the #ProjectSigil will allow users to import STLs. But with the fantastic and generous work of @mz4250 & other sculptors, WotC wouldn't be able to sell their models. I predict 2D imports only.
What does that mean for ♿ disability representation? Unless WotC adds it (not there yet in the #DnD Direct preview), they will literally only allow token representation.
I'm sorry, but Project Sigil seems like a big, ambitious mess (and potential boondoggle). I do not like what I'm hearing; you should be able to coherently describe what it does and more importantly, what it's for.
