I don’t understand the endgame. Like, it’s AI generated content which costs money, then it’s AI generated replies which costs money. To what, serve ads to bots? 1 in 5, or 10, or 100 visits being a real person?
They’re pouring so much money to make something appear human, thus taking away the things that made social media special (if sometimes problematic), humans.
They’re trying to figure out how to monetize people having a conversation, then remove the people

I just about had enough with Apple and emails. It used to be fine. iCloud Mail used to be a great option compared to the sea of ad ridden free-mail providers. It used to *just work*.
A while back Apple stopped maintaining their servers for their implementation of IMAP push. No push notifications for my other, non-apple email addresses. Not great but I'll just use my iCloud address for time sensitive stuff. Problem solved.
Some time later, I noticed that notifications on iOS were always 10 minutes late. As it turns out, Apple also managed to brick push notifications for their own email service. Now it seems like there isn't any way to receive timely notifications of incoming mail via the default mail app on iOS. That's bad.
Over the years I had the occasional issue sending mail. Sometimes it was rejected by the recipient, sometimes Apple would refuse to deliver my mail because god forbid I email one of my friends more than three times a day. It was a bit temperamental but it worked for the most part.
Yesterday, I got an email I didn't expect, although not on my iPhone as that message just missed the polling interval. That email informed me that I was unreachable via my custom domain on iCloud mail for some inexplicable reason. That's really bad.
So I set out to sort that out ASAP. Pulled up the settings app only to be told to continue on web. After some time I got it working but wasn't able to 'verify' my domain again. At this point I was at this for over an hour.
This is the point I stopped using iCloud Mail and switched to a local provider. Everything is so much faster, from logging in, to retrieving and sending mail. It almost feels instantaneous. More importantly, it works; I'm reachable and can send emails which will actually be delivered. Apple Mail and iCloud Mail used to be good but I fear that's not the case any more. As it stands today, I'll stop recommending iCloud Mail and suggest other (paid) services.

I think there shouldn't be any, the whole concept should be banned and considered a criminal activity.
Die #KVB ist ein unzuverlässiger Sch****verein. Mein Sohn pendelt seit einem halben Jahr mit der Bahn in die Schule und es ist krass, wie oft einfach gar nichts fährt. Für eine Großstadt in einem der reichsten Länder der Welt ein Armutszeugnis.
Kein Wunder, dass die Straßen immer verstopft sind, denn die Radwege sind ja auch oftmals nicht gut ausgebaut. #koeln #rant

I admit to marveling at her lack of knowing what a church lady was. I was brought up evangelical and they were a force of nature then.
I also marveled at her wondering about the abandonment of gender roles as both liberation and/or maintaining traditional family power structures.
Thoughts?
