Exchange Web Services wirklich am Ende?

Mich fragen derzeit aufgeregt Administratoren von Exchange-Umgebungen, was es mit dem Ende der Exchange Web Services tatsächlich auf sich hat. Da kommen dann Fragen zustande, die zum Inhalt haben, dass sie nun in ihren Server-Umgebungen völlig neue Anbindungen erstellen müssen oder dass diverse Dienste und Anwendungen nicht mehr funktionieren werden. Und da müssen wir mal kurz einhaken. Ich mache ja nun die Exchange-Nummer schon ziemlich lang.

Endlich! Mit etwa einem halben Jahr Verspätung habe ich eine aktualisierte Mailserveranleitung für Debian Trixie veröffentlicht.

War wieder eine Mords Arbeit und ich hoffe, es hilft dem ein oder anderen :) Getestet ist es natürlich auch, allerdings derzeit nur partiell. Also nicht von Grund auf, sondern nur die Deltas zur alten Anleitung. Bei Gelegenheit teste ich auch nochmal vollständig "from scratch".

Mutige dürfen sie also gerne schon ausprobieren :)

I've had the same free email for exactly 20-years, but over the last year it's become manipulative and intrusive while increasingly failing to filter spam.

My entire online life is linked to this email, now it might go sideways.

Are there proven, dependable, and hopefully free, services that do better, or is this a universal problem?

I don't want to bounce from one to another, constantly having to update sites. I'm also desperate to keep expenses down.

Ich habe euch ja erzählt, dass ich im Zuge von #DIDit einen eigenen Email Server aufgesetzt habe.

Meine Schwester meinte nun gestern, dass sie versucht hat eine Email an ihr eigenes T-Online Konto zu schicken und die käme nicht an.

In den Logs stand dann auch drin, dass TO die nicht annimmt, weil mein Server keine oder eine schlechte Reputation hat. Mit Email Adresse, an wen man sich wenden kann.

Ich hab dann eine Mail geschrieben und bekam dann schnell eine freundliche Antwort mit Links zu EU Richtlinien aber auch direkt einen Hinweis was ich machen muss: Eine Kontakt Email Adresse soll einfach ersichtlich auf der Homepage des Email Servers erscheinen.

Ich habe also den Footer meiner Mailcow Servers in den Einstellungen angepasst, so dass ein Kontakt ersichtlich ist.

Dann Mail zurück an TO, und nun ist der Server auch gleich freigeschaltet. Ich war freudig überrascht von der schnellen Reaktion dieses Konzerns.

Was lernt man daraus?

- Es ist schon ein gewisser Aufwand einen eigenen Email Server zu betreiben.
- Man muss sich trauen auch große Konzerne wegen Problemen anzuschreiben.
