Every time I talk about homeschooling, I lose followers. But that’s okay. I’m not here to go viral—I’m here to tell the truth as I see it. To raise thinkers. Builders. People who aren’t afraid of complexity. That story still deserves to be heard.

We homeschool. Secularly. Intentionally. Not to isolate, but to build capability and resilience. I want my children to grow up free—not just legally, but mentally. Free to think. Free to adapt. Free to live well on their own terms. And able to learn a level of philosophical depth not common anymore.

I was bullied for being the weird, intense, too-smart kid who couldn’t believe what others believed. I didn’t fake it well, and I still don’t. But over time, I’ve come to see that the things that set me apart are also the things that help me notice what others overlook.

I’m bipolar, have ADD, and test at a high IQ. I also have a form of antisocial personality disorder—not the kind people imagine, but one that means I don’t feel the drive to see others punished, even if they’re “getting what they deserve.” That shapes how I see the world—and how I raise my kids.

It is the height of arrogance to believe that you ALWAYS know what is best for another person.

Even if that person is your own child.

Their voice matters.

Yes, as a parent you sometimes have to make a tough call. But trust your child that they know, on some level, what they need most. There is always room for exploration and collaboration.
