I am currently at war with #recology over holiday tree pick up.
you may recall how excited I was that I got to keep my tree through Old New Year because last pick up day was Jan 17.
well. we set out our tree on the evening of Jan 16 as instructed: no decorations, no stand, not taller than 6 ft.
Jan 17 came and went with our tree sitting sadly on the curb. I called Sunset Scavenger on Jan 18 and was told that they were overwhelmed last night, and trucks were still out, tree would get picked up by EOD.
guess what. Sunday came, tree sat. They closed on Monday. Tuesday still tree.
I called again this morning: “Yes, the last day for Recology to pick up trees was Friday. Now it’s the city’s responsibility. I’ll file a request on your behalf.” I could hear him filling out a 311 form. I said this is unacceptable. He said “yes we try to get them to change it every year.”
Who’s “they”? Aren’t you our official waste management company? don’t we pay you a lot of money, collectively and individually to do this?
