I’ve released #Repixture version 3.18.0!

Just a quick update for the spyglass. It now adds a fancy on-screen border and switches camera mode to first person. That’s it! (apart from translation updates)

Player hunger bar was accidentally refilled on rejoin, this update fixes it. The rest is just maintenance stuff.

I also got a similar message for #Repixture and it was already deleted after a few minutes. I knew it was #spam because it claimed my project had "outdated libraries" but it doesn't use libraries.

But with your added context that this is an impersonation/defamation attempt so we collectively hate someone uninvolved it makes a LOT of sense now.

That's a kind of #SocialEngineering that wasn't on my radar yet and it is fucking disgusting. 😡

With #Luanti (formerly #Minetest) version 5.10 out, games can finally use the #gettext PO format natively.

I've recently updated #Repixture to use this format, which makes the translation process much simpler. Previously, I had to use a hacky Python script to convert between formats before I could upload the texts to Weblate. Now it can be used natively.

But yes, I suppose it can be adapted to MTG but also #Repixture. As long the explosives are not converted into moving objects (like in #VoxeLibre), adaption should be possible.

I haven’t tested how much this solution scales yet.

WITH moving objects, this becomes infinitely more difficult and I currently don’t have a good idea.

In #Lazarr!, I recently improved the performance of bomb explosions. Previously, blowing up even a small chain reaction of bombs can cause the FPS to drop sharply. But now it can handle a chain reaction of 48×48×48 bombs fine. This is not a realistic situation for actual levels, but it's nice to know the game can pass this stress test.

I think my new method would work well for the TNT in #Repixture as well.

Today is the 2nd and last day of the #Codeberg #translathon. A hackathon, but for translations.

I have submitted my 3 game projects #Repixture, #Lazarr! and #Glitch. To my surprise, Spanish got translated very fast for Lazarr! 🙂

And I also contributed a bit to other games like #HurryCurry or #Librerama.

@gamingonlinux getting lua deep into games on #minetest engine lately, had my first ever free and open source contributions in some easy fixes to the revived #zombies4test mod's #repixture compatibility.

Exoerimenting with spawning the zombies in #voxelibre and got most things working but that isn't merged yet (they already worked in #mineclonia by the time I heard the project started back up)

I've decided to take a break from #Repixture to pick up development for #Lazarr! again.

And I made great progress!

I've completely reworked the level editor to become more user-friendly.
Custom level support is also working now.
Information blocks will appear in levels, explaining the game.
Per-level skies have been added.
I'm in the process of integrating the "islands" map generator by Termos.

For the new village generator in #Repixture, I had to resize and update all house schematics.

Thankfully, a little bit of automation saved me some time.

I just implemented new paths for villages in #Repixture. Also, houses neatly fit into the forest without destroying the trees or landscape (well, usually …😅).

There are still a bunch of bugs, but I'm getting there. 🙂

Fun fact: The paths use the same pathfinding algorithm that villagers use.

Some paths in the forest connect small wooden huts.

The current village system in #Repixture generates villages on a simple 2D grid. Every building occupies exactly 12×12 blocks (including space). This usually works, but not always.

The downside is that pathways are very large, buildings need a lot of space so the game doesn't have a lot of freedom.
Worst of all, villages are always flat. They may force odd square-shaped hills to be generated if there is not enough land.

This is why I'm reworking this.

Working on a new village #algorithm for #Repixture. The goal is that the houses integrate better with the landscape.
Still much work to do, but I can already place houses on the ground, avoiding houses generating into each other, avoiding annoying overhangs and filling small holes and gaps below the foundation.

There's still much to do, but it's a start.
