Happy about the ‘boom’ in rooftop solar expansion everywhere, should be mandated in building codes IMO (depending on geo-location, etc)

But having a look at the headline pic of the article, if my installers had carried PV panels this way, I’d sack them and wnat my money back. Just sayin’

@solarpapst Es gibt auch in Süddeutschland noch viele grosse Dachflächen ohne PV. Mit Dachanlagen ist der PV-Preis vielleicht etwas höher, aber man spart auch Netzentgelte und Steuer. Engpässe im Stromnetz lassen sich auch damit vermeiden.

In November in Western Australia, solar and wind power had higher #capacityFactor than coal and gas. Coal CF was less than 20% so even #RooftopPV was higher. Reasons were high PV penetration and coal shortages.

@jt_ishie I agree. Most power utilities in Africa operate at a loss, lose money with every kWh they sell. Only Seychelles and Uganda appear to have #CostReflectiveTariff. I expect plenty of #GridDefection as soon as hybrid #rooftopPV +battery are sold in large quantities, prices should now be below 10.000$ for 10kW&10kWh systems
