St. Andrews Codroy Valley CDA5 → McCurdy Sydney CYQY

I’ve left Newfoundland behind and crossed the Laurentian Channel on my way to Nova Scotia. For this leg, I swapped the Daher TBM 930 for a Beechcraft King Air 350i.

A white twin-engine turboprop airplane flies low over a vast expanse of deep blue water, its wings level and nose slightly angled upward. The aircraft, with a dark tail section and multiple passenger windows, is positioned near the coastline where land meets sea. Below, the terrain transitions from the water to lush green hills and rugged mountain ranges covered in dense vegetation. A network of thin roads snakes through the verdant landscape, connecting scattered patches of forest and small bodies of water. In the distance, the horizon blends into a bright sky with wispy clouds, while the water stretches to the left, reflecting the light. The overall scene suggests a coastal region with varied topography under clear weather conditions.A twin-engine propeller aircraft with a white fuselage and dark blue accents cruises at altitude above a large body of water. Its tail fin features a bold red design, and the registration “D-MJXY” is visible. Both propellers spin rapidly, indicating active flight. The sun sits low on the horizon, casting a brilliant reflection across the ocean’s surface and illuminating the scene with a warm glow. Below, a winding coastline stretches into the distance, marked by rolling green hills and forested valleys. The land meets the water at a curved shoreline, with patches of darker terrain indicating rivers or lakes. The sky above is mostly clear with a few wispy clouds, creating a bright, open atmosphere. The plane’s wings extend horizontally, and its nose points slightly toward the sunlit water. The overall setting conveys a peaceful aerial journey over a scenic coastal region during what seems to be the early morning or late afternoon hours, with the aircraft positioned centrally in the frame against the backdrop of the horizon and sunlight.Inside an aircraft cockpit, a view through the main window shows a bright sun near the horizon illuminating a vast expanse of calm ocean, with distant land visible on the horizon. The cockpit interior includes a curved window frame, part of the aircraft's fuselage with riveted panels and a dark blue nose cone, and an instrument panel with a digital display showing "XPDR 2954 ALT" and "IDENT". The sky is clear with scattered clouds, and the sun's glare creates a bright reflection on the water. The scene suggests the aircraft is in flight at a high altitude over the ocean during daytime.Inside an aircraft cockpit, digital flight instruments are active during flight. The central screen displays navigation maps marked "ARRIVAL," "Approach," "ILS 6," with "Bearing Pointers Off" and "GPS" indicators, alongside altitude markers "200," "180," "160," "140," "120," "100," "80," "60," "40," "20," "0." The right control panel features "BARO 29.92," "2500," "2100," "178," "186," "220," "230," "250," and switches for "FLC," "NAV," "HDG," "APPR," "ALT," "YD," "AP," "APPR," "FD," "VS," "CRS1," "VNAV," "DOWN," "UP," "SPEED," "1/2 BANK," "ALT," "CL," "Y/D," "Y/D DISC." Outside the windshield, a rural landscape with green fields, tree-lined roads, and scattered buildings is visible under a clear blue sky with wispy clouds. Windshield wipers are present, and the aircraft appears to be in a low-altitude approach phase, with sunlight casting bright illumination on the cockpit interior and the ground below.

🇬🇧 58 tabs with music I still have to listen to in my 'Bandcamp' browser tab group.

We Lost the Sea - 'A Single Flower'

We Lost the Sea are an Australian instrumental post-rock/post-metal band from Sydney. In 2015, they released 'Departure Songs' to critical acclaim, after the death of their vocalist in 2013.

'A Single Flower' was released in July 2025.

Sydney, Australia
Stunning summer weather! High of 27°C with a sea breeze keeping the humidity at bay. Ideal conditions for a ferry ride or a surf at Bondi. The UV index is extreme, so "slip, slop, slap" is the rule of the day! 🇦🇺🏖️ youtu.be/hJk5dLkBXzA

I'm driving to Sydney tomorrow to do a Costco shop for my housemate before I fly to the UK.

I'm looking forward to the playlist for the drive—it's Duran-DurJanuary.

I'm looking forward to the obligatory Costco hotdog lunch.

I'm looking forward to picking up the good fish and chips in Blackheath for dinner.
