"Bootleg Graveyard", a tribute piece to #SFGraffiti legends like #ORFN, #Ribity, #Spesh (aka Fogbender), and Pete Lum. This mural is up in Clarion Alley in #SanFrancisco and was made by #Sapien (who is most known for their Magic Acrostic Squares tags around town).

It has three words: Complaint, Placement, and Intention. These words are written on three different rows, but boxes are drawn around parts of the words that show the words can be read left to right and up to down. For example, the box shows that if you read the first three letters of "Complaint" and then skip down to the first three letters of "Placement" and then skip down again to the first three letters of "Intention", you have the word "com-pla-int". If you do it again with the next 3 letters of each word you have the word "pla-cem-ent".

@jamesdowne@mstdn.ca yes, I completed my first attempt. It took me 14 months. That ended up being the first book of my #Sapien trilogy, which I “finished” in 2022. I published a standalone novel—Circa 1740–on January 31 of this year.

@simonbillinton @mverant that sounds interesting. My completed #Sapien series is omniscient. The story I’m working on now is 3rd person close. It’s a worldview story that focuses on one character, so I feel it’s necessary to write it a that way.

@authortoburnett My ears just perked up when I read dystopian thriller. Gonna check out #Sapien as well, that sounds really interesting!

@mguhlin thanks. #Sapien is an action/adventure/space opera about the existence of mankind prior to our existence on earth and the events that led to us getting here. The story is set in the Sapien solar system and revolves around a crew of interplanetary smugglers. When the story takes place, there is no justice system (yet) and no organized religion.

I have 4 books in various stages of development. I’ve revised the 1st book of my #Sapien series. Right now that’s being formatted and is getting a new cover. I’m almost done with revisions on the 2nd book in the series. I’ll be getting that reformatted as well. The 3rd is done and formatted. I’m just waiting on the cover art for that. In addition to those, I’ve started a dystopian thriller, which is my official WIP. I’ve written about 20K words of that first draft so far. It’s hard to keep up.
