A great evening last night at The Halls Wolverhampton.
Th Irish group, The Saw Doctors in the middle of their first tour in years, absolutely fantastic nearly 2 1/2 hours of excellent non-stop music.
I'd really love the opportunity to photograph some gigs using some real cameras!

I hadn't been aware that Irish folk music had ever seen a particular period of decline. Maybe it depends on if you classify the likes of the Pogues, the Saw Doctors or the 2 Johnnies as 'folk'.

4. N17 - The #SawDoctors have a gift for making rousing songs about the saddest things. I played it every Patrick's Day in Sydney, laughing and crying.
3. The Boys Are Back In Town - this is the Irish summer; 99's dripping, chips in a paper bag, Wexford strawberries from a roadside stand. My Dad's from Dublin and saw Phil Lynott play live many times. Yeah, I'm jealous.
2. Fairytale of New York - can't argue this one. Iconic. (But changing to haggard works less well than braggart, I think?)
