Nice.

Any shots of a P47 Razorback?

@cvvhrn

You have any shots of P-47 Razorback cockpits? šŸ¤”šŸ¤“

I've been doing some scratch building on an #Airfix 1:48 #Chipmunk - and a lot of cockpit detailing.

I know cockpits are usually lost when closing up, but I wasn't prepared for just how much is hidden in this one.

But I've also been scratch building the engine, with the intent to have it on display... But have just realised I have *no* idea how to mask it up before priming and painting the fuselage...

So have some photos before I risk messing it all up 😳

There's a lot of fine wires, and scratch built components.

Along with the German #ATAT I needed the other side - and as I was going for a #Stalingrad theme, I selected the USSR.

Honestly tho? If I was starting again, I would've selected a Russian AT-AT and Ukrainian rebel forces. Ah, the benefit of hindsight, eh? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

My 1940 Short Stirling project is coming together nicely. Upgrading a kit first made in the 1960s has been fun. I’m going to have to virtually scratch build nose and tail turrets, as I have done for the cockpit. Very pleased with how this build is going.

Undercarriage units for a scale model World War Two bomber. The parts are moulded in black plastic. At the back, the retraction mechanisms with gear bay doors are seen, while a pair of massive tyres lay in the front. The main wheels were almost as tall as an average person.A closeup view of the Stirling flight deck. There is no glazed canopy fitted yet, so we see the detailed pilot's seating, complete with representation of the seat harnesses. The fuselage halves of the model are temporarily held together with masking tape.Viewed from above, the Stirling's fuselage and wings are temporarily attached and the whole posed on a mucky green cutting mat. The Stirling had four large engines in the wings, which are not attached at this stage. Everything in is various stages of bare plastic, grey primer and brown undercoats.
