Was macht man eigentlich mit den dutzenden ausrangierter #Plüschtieren (#Geschenke) in der übervollen Schublade, wenn die #Kinder groß (bald erwachsen) geworden sind?

Ich meine, außer #Mottenfutter und #Staubfänger? Die #Secondhandshops hier nehmen sie nicht, zum #wegwerfen zu schade. Und über #kleinanzeigen geht auch nix weg...

Second hand shops are great. Today I bought a soft cuddly top, a small ceramic jug for refilling the iron, and an Anglo-Saxon Primer (the 9th edition - printed when my parents were preschoolers - of a book originally published in the reign of Queen Victoria). All from the same shop.

Snaffled this at the Salvation Army second-hand shop. Hopefully it'll make hem levelling a bit simpler (though still a two-person job).

A small square wooden platform a few inches wide and deep supports a tall thin piece of wood with a paper glued to it marking inches from the floor. The lowest number is 2, the highest is 18.

Today's mend is incomplete. I thought these shalwar just needed the crotch seam finished, but it turns out two full length seams also needed to be finished. All trimmed and pinned, but the long seams aren't sewn yet.

Today I acquired a cotton hand towel, the DVD of High Society, and this rather nice cushion, all for the princely sum of four dollars (NZD - approx €2.20 or USD2.40).
#SecondHandShops are wonderful.

A canvas work cushion in large blue and orange and yellow stitching. A central stylized floral motif is surrounded by sharp projections toward the four corners, and curlicues ornament the four sides.
The cushion leans against two other cushions, one plain blue, the other floral, in a blue armchair.

Finished at last! I started this baby jersey about a year ago, I think.
This is the back view, showing the button fastenings which allow you to open up the shoulders for the passage of the enormous human head.
My abilities in the area of sewing in sleeves could definitely use some work.
The yarn is vintage 4ply crepe from a second hand shop (that was a great day).
