I got one of these. They are cheap to get on Aliexpress (probably also other places). They are very practical when mending clothes.
My reference is "manual" mending techniques were one uses just a needle and makes the weave manually. The loom delivers a huge speed-up if the area is larger and rectangular.

It is the second time I have to fix this zipper. I really should have it changed, which goes beyond my #mending abilities.

This quick fix is done in a moment. The original price is around 100 euros and it broke after roughly three years of daily use.

The same process about five times a day. I walk into a class, kids talk, and they won't shut up until the teacher scolds... or shouts. I won't shout. I wait, or start talking in a very low voice, or make a noise.

They hate other people's noises. Of course they do.

Yesterday I had a #mending marathon and the elastic on my little finger cymbals was the first thing I did.

Hoy no sé qué inspiración tenía, que mientras jugaba a rol hice cinco arreglos de costura en unas tres horas. No todo merece foto, algunas cosas eran apenas sustituir un elástico, pero ya haré alguna mañana con luz natural. El cesto ha quedado muy ligero XD
Hay camisetas con las que estoy indecisa de si hacer arreglos o directamente trapos de cocina.

I finished reading Modern Mending by Erin Lewis-Fitzgerald. I thought it was a good read. I'm glad I have my own copy to use as a reference.

#Mending is a bit tiresome, but I appreciate giving my textiles a longer life, so I do it.

My vintage Marimekko bag had a borked zipper but I've managed. Today I couldn't stand it anymore. I picked another zipper from my stash of recyclables to match the faded canvas.

Out came the old zipper. I handsewed the replacement in (to use a sewing machine, I would've had to take apart more of the structure). It took all afternoon, but it looks good and works, which is the main point.

Fixing this jumper has been sitting on my to-do list for ages. It's one of my partner's cosiest ones, but this arm seam had developed a gaping hole so he's only been able to wear it round the house for months. Not a long or complicated repair, but still very satisfying.
