Steve, not taking a political position is a political position: specifically, a conservative one. #SecurityNow. SN1048.

As the years progress I feel like more and more of #SecurityNow is comprised of Steve reading primary source commercial puffery / press releases and less his own analysis.

Reading commercial press releases is a convenient way to pad runtime, but I am tempted more and more to either increase playback speed or just skim an automatic transcription.

So, I'm expecting to hear Steve Gibson explain ring signatures at some point in a future #SecurityNow episode with @leo regarding #AgeVerification and #privacy.

Excuse me @leo I am listening to #SecurityNow episode 1035 (yes I’m a bit behind) and while Steve has clearly thought a lot about a reasonable, privacy-preserving method to perform age verification, it’s all predicated on an assumption of good faith that I don’t think exists.

Surveillance is the objective of this “age verification” push: so is blocking young people’s access to health information, political discourse, and anything about queer people.

Finished first #CyberSecurity class for #CollegeCreditPlus (college classes for high school students) certification. Got an A.

The reason is simple -- 15 years of #SecurityNow with Steve Gibson (@SGgrc) on #TWIT.

Also, it was summer break from #k12 work, so had time to do the work. We'll see what happens during the school year, when I'm busy with #ESOL (#ESL) stuff.

Next fall, I'll be teaching cyber security to high school students for college credit. And doing ESOL stuff.

We've all seen the supposedly encrypted Tux picture, where the #Linux mascot is "clearly decipherable"(in a degraded state) by a mark 1 eyeball:

Steve Gibson, @SGgrc (?), the GRC/SpinRite guy and #SecurityNow #Podcast host, just explained in a sub-clause, why exactly ECB(CBC?) is an inadequate #Cipher mode; "no chaining among successive blocks - you just independently encrypt each block".

I was listening to a #security and #privacy #Podcast today. for minutes the host spoke how great it is to wear a device that records the voice 24x7, for six months. But now, that amazon bought the company he has privacy concerns. I hope he always informed the other side when it a talk, because else this is a huge privacy invasion in my eyes.
I would have expected that the host or the security specialist mentioning this at least once.
Disappointing.

@ta1da Steve Gibson has spent some in depth time on the questionable state of AI in his #SecurityNow podcast. Particularly episodes 1007, but also 1027 and 1028 are good references. The show notes can be found here, so they can be read as blog posts: grc.com/securitynow.htm
