Поговорим о том, как Google решает фундаментальные проблемы ядра Linux, что такое Starnix на уровне системных вызовов, зачем нужен FIDL и почему 2024–2025 годы стали переломными для проекта, переведя его из стадии R&D в стадию инфраструктурного фундамента.

I've come back to #starnix , here I'm going to try using Pleroma as my main, maybe eventually moving to the Mastodon. Time to check who I follow and follow my new followings.

Part of me wants to go back to #starnix … opinions?

The Pleroma instance of #Starnix is more active than the Mastodon instance on the Public timeline. Yet Mastodon still has some activity, but not as much as on Pleroma. Misskey is mainly a ghost town. If only Pleroma has those Linux emojis... (I know, it takes time...)

@splitshockvirus @splitshockvirus Honestly I would get behind Fedibird. That can be installed on mstdn as a replacement to glitch-soc, since you said you didn't really like it. I was gonna suggest Rebased, but I guess that would be unnecessary if Fedibird has all those features, and you can use Soapbox.

Speaking of, is it okay if you could host Soapbox and bloat for #Starnix please?

@splitshockvirus I guess this is why you're primarily active on Mastodon @splitshockvirus other than it being the flagship instance. I have a couple questions:

1. If this instance is to shut down, how much advanced notice will users get to back up their data and move to another instance?
2. Will #Starnix get an Akkoma or Rebased instance to use in time if Pleroma is to go down, or will Pleroma be migrated into one of those?

P.S. I should point out that if users still want to use Pleroma even after this, they are welcome to host their own instances (like I do), or join another instance like annihilation.social. With that being said I would recommend they try hosting other software like Foundkey, Calckey, honk, Mitra, microblog.pub, etc.

Oh well, Jae just moved to layer8.space. Guess #Starnix wasn't her fit, but she moved to an instance which could still talk to us.

So not only was #Starnix cut off from floss.social, we were also finally cut off from social.growyourown.services, because they finally imported a blocklist. It's likely other servers are gonna import the blocklist too and we'll be cut off for the last time.

Many of the Starnix users don't seem to care about it. In fact, they're cheering about it. Same for annihilation.social. That's what they want, that's what they get.

We are the future of the fediverse. The rest of the Mastodon Network is gonna collapse and we didn't give in. We'll be able to talk to instances that have been wrongly banned for whatever reason, and we can still discuss FOSS among other things.

#Starnix has a lot of custom emojis, especially the anime ones. @splitshockvirus does a great job.

@cliffwade I have one on each of the #starnix instances, one on comicscamp.club for art, one on floss.social because yeah made it moved there then went back to Starnix, I've got one on Fosstodon, and one on techhub.social for one of my projects.

There's no Fedora emoji on #starnix Pleroma (there is on Mastodon). :( XD
