Email from #Google #Podcasts arriving a month too late, as when #Stitcher closed due their sale to #SiriusXM, I fully re-adopted #ApplePodcasts and even created stations.

Google Podcasts will be discontinued next year. We wanted to reach out directly with more information on what to expect.

#GooglePodcasts ...Nos if #Apple just made it easier to add podcasts to stations from the podcast subscription itself (without having to edit the station), that would be a great improvement.

I've been using other apps to access & listen to my podcast feeds, and am still deciding which one will be the new one (all have things I like but none of them comes out clearly ahead) but today, while I still can, I signed into Stitcher on the Web to take screenshots of the Show Groups.

I loved that, and I loved that I could just look at a group and see what's new there.

I'll continue to feel off-kilter wrt podcasts for a while.

With the coming #Stitcher death, I am concerned about the accessibility of two of my favorite podcasts of all time: #NeighborhoodListen and #Spontaneanation. I haven't seen anything about their future, but I sure hope that those archives are made available. I'd be very sad indeed to lose access to those feeds forever. #PFT #NicoleParker #CBBWorld

If you were following my podcast app saga, by far the best one I found for my needs is Podurama! Cross-platform and sync between Android, iOS and browser, a good interface, a generous free tier and the option of a lifetime premium, instead of paying a membership for who knows how long.

Less than 3 yrs after purchasing it for $325 million #SiriusXM is shutting down #Stitcher #podcast playback platform and iOs & Android mobile device app on August 29th. The service launched in 2008 as a VC backed service until 2014 when Stitcher was sold to #Deezer for $4.5 million.

#PocketCasts seems like a decent alternative but the desktop access only available in the plus subscription. That's not really going to work for me since I do a lot of additions an management of playlists in the morning when I'm browsing on my tablet.

@susankitchens Any final decision on your Stitcher replacement? I have been away for two weeks and just found out I have less than a month! SO SAD! In case anyone cares, I BRIEFLY considered Sirius XM since we have that in our cars but since it took almost 30 mins to sort out the streaming versus regular accounts, decided that the terrible Sirius XM experience we already dislike would likely carry over to any podcast app! Interested #Stitcher
