1/4 Stormont's 27-Year Integrated Education Failure

67% of Northern Ireland wants integrated schools. Only 7% of pupils attend them. Since 1998, Stormont has failed to deliver on promises of integration, crawling from 2.4% to 7% attendance. The Integrated Education Act 2022 aimed for progress, but lacks clear targets and resources.

A red "Stormont Scorecard" stamp is placed at the top left. The main text states: "INTEGRATED EDUCATION 67% WANT IT, ONLY 7% GET IT." Below, a tagline reads: "Unite in class, unite in life." The Green Party NI logo is at the bottom, followed by publishing details: "Published and Promoted by Green Party NI, PO Box 369, Bangor, BT20 9FJ." 4/4 As we approach the 2027 elections, Stormont's commitment to integrated education remains more rhetoric than reality. How many more generations will be failed? Joinus to build an inclusive, united Northern Ireland through education. Our children's future can't wait. greenpartyni.org/join

2/4 Political resistance remains the biggest hurdle. In January 2025, Education Minister Paul Givan rejected integrated status for Bangor Academy and Rathmore Primary School, ignoring overwhelming parent support. This disconnect between public will and political action continues to stall progress.

3/4 Public demand is clear: 67% want integrated education as the main model, and 63% would support their school becoming integrated. Yet Stormont drags its feet. Integrated education isn't just about mixing pupils—it's about fostering understanding, challenging prejudices, and building a shared society.

1/3 27 Years of Stormont Failure;
For nearly three decades, the same Executive parties have promised progress on infrastructure and transport.

The result? A legacy of waste, neglect, and broken promises.

- £2.5 BILLION squandered on stalled projects.
- The A5 upgrade delayed for over a decade.
- A mere £2 per person invested in cycling, while Ireland spends €72.
- 20 MILLION tonnes of sewage polluting our rivers annually.

2/3 Stormont's weak leadership has created a transport desert outside urban centres. Skewed priorities mean vanity projects in Belfast while the rest of NI crumbles. No accountability means budgets spiral out of control.
This isn't just about money—it's about our quality of life, safety, and future. We've had 27 years of waste, delay, and neglect. The same parties will serve up the same failures. #StormontScorecard

Glider Phase 2: Another Stormont failure! Costs ballooned to £148m, but £110m shortfall leaves N/S Belfast stranded. Public transport usage up, but still below pre-pandemic levels.
❌ Cost ballooned from £80m to £148m
❌ Only £35m secured, leaving a £110m black hole
❌ Completion pushed beyond 2028
❌ North and South Belfast left waiting

Northern Ireland's cycling ambitions are running on flat tyres. We invest a paltry £2 per person in active travel, whilst Ireland commits €72. Copenhagen celebrates 36% of journeys by bike; we're stuck at less than 1%. Our 2015 Cycling Strategy became the Belfast Cycling Network Delivery Plan 2022-31, but we're still waiting at the starting line. Belfast trails Dublin by 15-20 years, with only two miles of segregated lanes.

The Green Party logo appears at the bottom, along with a disclaimer about publication and promotion.

We're failing our children too, with a mere 1% cycling to school. We urgently need segregated lanes, connected greenways, and School Streets initiatives. £2 per person won't build a cycling nation. It's time to shift gears and pedal towards progress.

Meanwhile, Ireland's Waterford Greenway is pumping millions into local economies, part of a €360 million annual investment in walking and cycling. This isn't just about bikes—it's about tackling climate change, reducing the 800 annual deaths from air pollution, and improving public health.

💧 Stormont’s Wastewater Crisis

Northern Ireland’s wastewater infrastructure is collapsing: over 100 areas have no capacity left, and by 2027, another 30 towns will hit the limit. 20m tonnes of untreated sewage spill into our waterways annually, polluting rivers and stalling housing projects.

Stormont’s neglect is costing us dearly! #StormontScorecard

🚨 Stormont’s £2.5 Billion Disaster 🚨

Delays & overspends are crippling NI’s infrastructure:
- Casement Park: £400m wasted, no progress in 14 years.
- A5 road upgrade: £1.6bn, over a decade late.
- Water crisis: 19,000 homes stalled by outdated systems.

The Green Party would fix this with:
✅ Smarter spending on schools & hospitals, not wasteful projects.
✅ Investment in public transport & water systems.
✅ Transparent governance for accountability.

It’s time for change! #StormontScorecard

🚨 Stormont’s 27-year record: Failure 🚨

💔 545,000+ on NHS waiting lists
💔 A&E delays costing lives
💔 7-year waits for gender care
💔 Mental health & social care in freefall
💔 Inclusion strategies ignored

Same parties. Same excuses. Same suffering.

Inclusion Delayed is Justice Denied

Stormont has failed Northern Ireland. Four critical social inclusion strategies remain unimplemented:

- Anti-Poverty: High poverty levels persist
- Disability: Disproportionate poverty & unemployment
- Gender Equality: Barriers in politics & workplace
- LGBTQI+: Discrimination in employment, housing & public life

These strategies, promised in New Decade, New Approach, are stalled. NI lags while others progress. Again.

🚨 MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS 🚨
Stormont spends just 6% of its health budget on mental health—England spends 12%, Wales 13%!

- £80-190M needed to catch up with the UK
- 17.5k waiting for their first appointment
- £3.4B annual cost of neglect

The Green Party NI says ENOUGH: fair funding, guaranteed therapy access in 28 days, support for workers, and tackling root causes like housing and work-life balance. It’s time for real change!

The Stormont executive parties have persistently let down the LGBTQ+ community through inaction and broken promises.

After 27 years of the same parties in power, what can they point at as achievements?

They shouldn’t get a free PR pass at Pride while failing to deliver real change.

Pride is protest and celebration, not a photoshoot.
