Am 21.09.1884 rief Gustav #Struve in #Loerrach die Republik aus. Auch heute noch gilt: Rechte wie #Versammlungsfreiheit, #Meinungsfreiheit, #Pressefreiheit, #Religionsfreiheit usw. sind nicht selbstverständlich, sondern müssen erkämpft und immer wieder verteidigt werden.
@jon I have only passed through a couple of times, never spent any longer time there. The weather is nice, yes. Walked along the river and admired the bridge in the early morning the 3rd when I was going the other direction. Didn’t see the Lenin plaque but saw a couple of info posters about the #Struve #geodetic arch from 1816–1855. Which was interesting in a nerdy way.
Oh, and #Tornio has a bar called “Little Berlin”. Will have to visit that. I expect disappointment, though…
