My genius idea that would’ve saved #Studio60OnTheSunsetStrip. OK, not genius and wouldn’t have saved S60, but I think it might have been a better fit for Sorkin.

Instead of a Saturday Night Live inspired sketch show, make it a Late Show/Letterman inspired late night talk show. Still comedy, still occasional sketches, but more focused on a central host who does comedy and interviews. I think that’s much more Sorkin. I guess he sorta kinda did that with The Newsroom. Ish.

Well, I’d’ve dug it.

Finished my #Studio60OnTheSunsetStrip rewatch and, yeah, I think I like it even more now. I always liked it but, before, I sort of conceded that it failed somehow and didn’t deserve a second season. I think I had some weird half notion that S60 died so #30Rock could live, which doesn’t make any sense. Anyway, all this time later, I love this 22 part movie, despite the odd embarrassingly OTT dramatic moment and not very funny in-show sketches. 95% of this show is just a delight.

This might be sacrilege, especially as a writer and enjoyer/critic of #AmericanMedia, but I've never watched #30Rock all the way through, but I've watched #Studio60OnTheSunsetStrip like 300 different times.
