I can relate. Campus elevators (what we call lifts on this side of the pond) are basically a running joke because most of the time they are not working. In fact, so bad, there is a campus e-mail group option to stay informed on "the broken elevators on campus today."

Some lessons from Carnegie that still stand today. I admit the diplomacy one is a hard one for me that I need to work on regularly. I am not the most diplomatic person.
