A post about the vintage gender-neutral pronoun #thon (contracted from "that one") opines that “How may I address you?” is a good question to ask to obtain another's preferred pronouns.
But that's not what third-person #pronouns are. They're not used when you're addressing: talking to a person. They're for when you're referring: talking about a person to someone else.
(And this isn't done as a response to the original post, because I know in my bones I'd be pilloried as a reply guy. So I make my quiet comment where no one will read it.)
