Time for the final episode of #TheHandMaidsTale

Last episode was really good, as has been the whole season -- if you're able to overlook the generous helping of god-from-the-machine, which was necessary imo because I think the show really painted itself into a corner in previous seasons

I was able to finish up the final season of #TheHandmaidsTale and I have this...

I have this really strong feeling of sadness.

When I think about everything that happened to the characters during the six seasons and all they endured, it makes me wonder if we'll be able to avoid Gilead sprouting up here... can ward off a theocracy. And I wonder how much more chaos and erosion of civil rights are in store for us before things get really violent.

I'll be honest. I'm kind of worried.

Was never able to see [or, tbh, wanted to] the more recent series. Against my better judgement, tonight chose to try the original older movie. So far [~1/3 thru] tis just revolting, with me having to constantly suppress the urge to scream & swear. Unsure if i'll be able to finish it. So repugnant.
