Fifteen minutes after Pozei and Piejie woke up, the clock still showed five minutes to eleven. The air became calm and gentle. Soon, it started to snow. Sometimes it’s near the nose. Sometimes it’s not. Soon, the snow gathered around the dog’s neck. The ice whined behind ears, heavier than before.
“It’s 11:05,” said Pyotr quietly. “It’s cloudy.” It wasn’t long before snow began to fall on many ears, and ice formed around them.
Finally, Vinnie told the truth. “Brother? Shall we see each other tomorrow? Or the day after tomorrow?”
