Dieser Figurenkonstellation mit stellenweise fast schon Slapstick-artigem Humor zu begegnen, hat mir überraschend gut gefallen. Formal stehen diese Momente in krassem Gegensatz zum eigentlichen Geschehen, tun deren Härte jedoch nie Abbruch und sorgen letztlich für das berühmte im Halse steckenbleibende Lachen.

Letztlich geht es auch um den Umgang mit Traumata. Das Trauma der Kriegsgenerationen mag bestimmte Verhaltensmuster erklären, aber auch Trauma ist niemals eine Entschuldigung dafür, keine Verantwortung für sein eigenes Handeln zu übernehmen. Die Männer begreifen das nicht, sie leben in einer untergegangenen Welt. Die Frauen hingegen lassen sich nie endgültig brechen und unternehmen trotz existenzieller Bedrohung alles, um sich zu emanzipieren und wenn nicht bereits für sie, dann für ihre Töchter eine bessere Welt zu schaffen.

Dass sich die vermeintlich Affäre der Protagonistin am Ende nicht als Mann, sondern als Wahlurne entpuppt, ist einfach super clever und lustig. Mir hat das alles sehr großen Spaß bereitet und mich auch sehr bewegt.
