**Mickey 17** is an interesting entry from the director. While more comedic and lighter in tone, the subtlety and nuance in characters, dialogue and performance is sorely missing for its social commentary. As a sci-fi film, I don't think it pushes its concept enough to be worth recommending.
Wait a minute... I think *1000xResist* does this so much better which I should get to someday.

🎬 Il a été adapté sous le titre #Mickey17 par le réalisateur sud-coréen Bong Joon-ho avec Robert Pattinson dans le rôle de Mickey. Le scénario suit l’intrigue principale mais prend ses distances avec le roman avec un côté comédie et une satire appuyée de la lutte des classes. Une adaptation réussie et une nouvelle œuvre majeure pour ce réalisateur brillant. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Just finished #Mickey17. Honestly, not sure what I was expecting, but it was pretty good. Quite a lot more introspection than I was expecting. Of course it was definitely over the top, but all in all, it worked out.

Okja (ese filme que sin pretenderlo hizo tanto por el veganismo) triunfó al tocar las fibras sensibles con tino dentro de los parámetros del cine familiar. Luego, Parásitos se aupó como un cine de autor con mensaje mostrado de un modo narrativamente impoluto.
Fueron los dos últimos largos de Bong Joon-ho, un director nunca empachado de probarse en distintos géneros. Su nueva película es más estadounidense que coreana, desde la financiación o el reparto hasta el guion (adaptado).
Mickey 17 no tropieza -tranquilidad, putifanses-, simplemente es más efectista que efectiva. Lo que asimismo describe la interpretación de Pattinson.
<<¿Tú también tienes miedo? Significa que eres humano.>>
Este filme entra bien pese a su duración, pero eso ya es canon. Lo que sucede es que se siente un pastiche de lugares comunes, empezando por el guiño a Okja, aunque ahora sea extraterrestre, y ese malo de dientes postizos que remite al gobernador Ratcliffe de Pocahontas.
Ahí queda el matrimonio villano tan estereotípico o los celos del prota hacia el otro. O la equivalencia entre comer carne y comer bien (más creencia que ciencia). O el aborregamiento de la tripulación, sin haber aprendido nada de las revoluciones obreras. Mucho futurismo pero la sexoafectividad y las relaciones de poder son arcaicas.
La neoeugenesia, las personas-herramienta, sí tiene empaque argumental, aunque por desgracia se desarrolla con desgana y el hilo acaba perdido entre otros, ninguno bien lucido, enmarañados. Otro ejemplo, el conflicto entre colonizadores y colonizados que resulta un dilema de baratillo.
<<¿Qué haría 18?>>
La originalidad es la gran ausente. El resto, marcha. Y se olvida. Mickey no está destinada a perdurar. Podría haber recogido el testigo de la notable Moon (2009) pero no, junto a las palomitas olvidas haberla visto.
