Die #Erinnerung lebt fort !
Eine Gedenkveranstaltung auf dem Deportiertenfriedhof in #Gurs erinnert alljährlich an die Jüdinnen und Juden, die 1940 in das Dorf im Südwesten Frankreichs verschleppt wurden. Auch dieses Jahr nahm wieder eine rund 70-köpfige Delegation aus Deutschland an der Veranstaltung am 27. Oktober teil. Die Stadt #Weinheim wurde vertreten durch Stadtrat Klaus Hafner, Dr. #ThomasOtt, die Schülerin Henriette Heeb und die Auszubildende Emma Horn. #shoa

Thomas Ott is arguably one of the modern European masters in comic book, illustration and horror tales. His signature technique is scratchboard (where you literally cut layers of black ink to reveal the white behind), and his tales tend to be wordless yet poetic, and deal with horror/fantasy themes. La Forêt (The Forest) is an exquisite example of his art, an apparently simple history with more layers than the cutter can carve in.
