Probably the last Big Core System: the INVASION. With every new floor, the Invasion progresses, activating on its way a random set of Calamities. The only way to reduce the invasion is to activate Cursed Keys... but those will summon the Guardian! #Godot #gamedev #turnbased

As they have not activated any Cursed Key, the new interface at the top of the screen is 2/5th filled with a violently red meter. Two metallic-looking nails are aglow, indicating that two Calamities have been activated.
The second one has just been activated and its tooltip is visible. It says:
"A new Calamity has Befallen the Archives!
RAIN OF FIRE - Active : At the start of every turn, a random number of tiles are targeted by airborne projectiles, dealing 2 damage."

And finally, the Encounters. Unique to each biome, these random events break the loop to provide well-needed bonuses, narration or dangerous traps. Like the Overseer, who'll demand a toll. But you'll get to know her more and more as you keep running into her. #Godot #gamedev #turnbased

Next, the Grimoire Slots. An essential balancing tool that limits the number of permanent spells you can have. Those don't disappear when you change floors and can be used any number of time, after a cooldown. Some artefacts may increase the number of slots you have! #Godot #gamedev #turnbased

Isoterick screenshot. In a regular library room, the player has just found a Grimoire, a permanent spell. The Grimoire is for a Fulminous Coat spell. However, their 3 Grimoire slots are filled with Cyclopean Wallop, Animaekinesis and Plane Walk. They can either sell one of those three or sell the one they just found.

Let's do an overview of the 3 systems added to Isoterick those past few days. They were planned from the start but I was waiting for the loop to be solid and fun in itself before adding them! First up is the Tutorial. Dynamic and itemized, it's pretty self-explanatory. #Godot #gamedev #turnbased

New mobs can now attack! ... though it mostly impossible to catch them haha

I'll add some kind of "leap" to all the 3 types of default player combat styles, which I still have to even work on haha.

Added 3 different combat styles (melee=red, range=green, magic=blue), changed the mob colors accordingly and now selecting them shows the range of each one.

Now I'll have to make the Range and Magic attack and pathfind to that range.
