🌏 Common myna (Acridotheres tristis)

The common myna, or Indian myna (sometimes spelled mynah), is a medium-sized, stocky bird, typically dark brown with a glossy black head, yellow bill, eye-patch, and legs. It has prominent white wing patches visible in flight. Native to Asia, its distribution has expanded globally due to introductions, making it a highly invasive species in many regions including Australia, South Africa, and parts of Europe and North America. They are ground-foraging omnivores, often seen in pairs or small flocks in urban and agricultural areas.
