This is above my head but I hope #VIA wins. All I know is that the track from Ottawa to the main line is stupid slow due to CN not doing maintenance on their track and that needs to be fixed (I'm sure there's other issues).
The only option I see here is VIA building their own track.

First time on #ViaRailCanada's new train set. Treated myself to a #Kaydo seat.
Looks like #VIARailCanada have finally updated their phone app. Played with it briefly; it shows existing bookings and their e-tickets (`boarding passes') and could probably change or cancel bookings or seats if I wanted to (but I don't for any of my present bookings). Took them a long time, glad it's there.
