It was an easy choice for me, voted for the person who wasn't going to open more offshore drilling, who wasn't going to turn AU into DT's US, who wasn't going to 'DOGE' most of Canberra's workforce, who wasn't going to turn AU toxic with nuclear waste, who wasn't going to do any kind of evil or inhuman crap.. And who had a long & stable record of being against the things above (ie, not a fly-by-nighter), I voted Greens, the only party that seemed to have realistic policies.

Our ballots arrived yesterday. We filled them out and dropped them back to our county elections office today. No ballot measures for us although others have them. (It depends where you live.) We voted for School Board members and county officials for various positions.
The Texas House is considering a bill to abolish May elections, which have the lowest turnout of any election.

As Anthony Albanese and Peter Dutton prepare for a sprint to the election finish line, what are the key seats to watch in Queensland?
@GeofCox There's not a lot of countries with mandatory voting. In the Anglosphere, just Australia, I think? I'd argue that they're doing better than the US or UK.
Preferential voting is probably more important, but mandatory voting helps - it means politicians need to focus on undecided/persuadable voters, rather than focusing on the 'get out the vote' of the people already the most passionate.
