#WebSeed

@Elizafox I usually tend to seed mostly smaller FLOSS stuff and plan to distribute @OS1337 via #BitTorrent (and ideally #IPFS as well) basically exclusively.

I mean, I could abuse #GitHub for that but I think it would make it more resilient to truly #decentralize amd merely add GitHub as a "#WebSeed"...

#SharingIsCaring and my record once was 69,4201 (I kid you not) for some obscure LiveCD.

BTW: Fuck Companies like #Microsoft, #Apple & #Google that to this day don't use #BitTorrent to efficiently download amd distribute their #Installer images on one end but also actively anthagonize #DownloadManagers and #CachingProxies...

You know how long it can take to download #AOSP & #VisualStudio over #ADSL or a single #ISDN channel?

#rtorrent is a nice #CommandLine #BitTorrent client but it (at least the version in Debian testing) doesn't support #WebSeed. #Transmission CLI version is cool, but only does one single torrent at a time. transmission-daemon handles multiple torrents, but has no upload/download rate limit support among its command line arguments.

I guess I'll download with transmission-daemon then switch to rtorrent for seeding.

(making a local backup of everything I ever uploaded to the Internet Archive)
