#WeezysServer

Remember, you too can mute #WeezysServer if you don't wanna deal with my bullshit.

We have pi-hole running on our network, combined with ublock origin on the browsers of our personal devices, we're getting page loading speeds we've not had in years.

However, my partner's work laptop (over which we have NO ADMIN CONTROL) keeps kicking him from accessing files or servers he needs.

We put him in his own group with no AdList in the hope it just.. doesn't do anything, like, acts as a tiny speed bump on the road to the internet. However, its still happening. The only hint we have is a message in "pi-hole diagnosis" which says
"warning in dnsmasq core,
Ignoring domain <work domain> for DHCP host name <business device name>"

Which the documents suggest means the device is trying to claim its own name on the DHCP and its not allowed to and frankly...

What the fuck does that even mean?
#PiHole #DHCP #HomeLab #n00b

I finally realised that with 3 months of migraines and worsening fine motor skills #WeezysServer was not gonna get built by me. So I called in a friend who, in exchange for the spare parts and home made mac and cheese, built it for me in about an hour.

Now I have pihole running and a Minecraft server looms. I am very excited!
