Yesterday I learned about Lieutenant Charles B. Gatewood.

Who was Charles Gatewood you ask? An honorable man who talked Geronimo and other Apaches into crossing back into the U.S. and surrendering to the army.

General Miles and the army then reneged on every single promise they made to Geronimo and betrayed the Apaches who scouted for them. Gatewood, for dealing in good faith, was banished by Miles to a small fort in northern Wyoming and obscurity.

"...Osborne then skinned Parrott's body and had a pair of shoes and medical bag made out of the human skin. The bag has never been found. Years later Osborne entered politics and was elected governor of Wyoming. To his 1893 inauguration he wore the shoes that a dozen years earlier had been a man."

Osborne was a medical doctor no less.

They walk among us!
Remember: Jackalopes are an endangered species. They are nocturnal creatures so be very careful driving the back roads of after dark.
