When it comes to #programming languages, I look for these things:
- Has an easy-to-read syntax (no boilerplate code)
- Has an IDE/plugin for code completion, refactoring, and linting
- Has #metaprogramming capability so I can write code that reads like English.
I thus end up preferring transpiled languages. My favourites are: #Xtend (for #Java), #TypeScript (for #JavaScript), and #Nim (for #C). Also love #Ruby and enjoy #Python.
