The Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill is a medium-sized bird with a long, curved yellow bill. Its plumage is pied, with a white belly, grey neck, and black wings with white spots. Found in the savannas and woodlands of southern Africa, it is a common and widespread resident. They are typically monogamous and sedentary. They forage on the ground for insects and small animals.
