Ghosts and ghouls are said to inhabit the realms of darkness. Not this one. This sad soul, a shadow of despondency, just stood there mid afternoon large as life. After taking the shot it disappeared.

This stretch of water has a beautiful name, the Sound of Iona. A mile wide channel between the isles of Mull and Iona. Taken with a toy camera this shot has the look of a cheap 70's postcard. Splendid.

A cute barred owlet perches gracefully on a moss-covered branch, surrounded by the rich, dark textures of a dense forest of the Pacific Northwest. They've fledged along with two siblings just over two weeks ago and I've been following their developments.
