Yesterday, faced with a problem of irrigation control and connectivity, I wondered:

Has anyone produced a data transmission interface that works for water-filled irrigation pipes?

Googling, I see a slew of articles referring to the 'garden hose analogy for bandwidth' but vanishingly few (so far) references to using actual garden hoses as data link layers.
