The community of #PortAlberni continues to mourn after the loss of “The Dean of BCHL play-by-play broadcasting”.
The rink was full on Saturday in his honour and the team put on quite the show in the moment with a 10-4 win. Evan would have been thrilled for the result and embarrassed by the attention on him.

Very sad news for the community as we have lost a much loved and followed radio voice and hockey play by play man Evan Hammond in #portalberni.
He has been on the local radio for 22 years since before it switched from CJAV AM to 93.3 FM.
He was only 45yrs old.

The first and only voice of the BCHL Alberni Valley Bulldogs for their history.
A very decent human.
The great Jim Robson started his radio career at CJAV. Evan was carrying on a long tradition.
